Suspect for the murder of Vedrana Puljic escaped from the hands of the judicial police thirty minutes after midnight.
Oliver Knezović escaped from the hands of the judicial police half an hour after midnight! A spokesman for the West-Herzegovina Police, Damir Cutura said that the Judicial Police received a tip that the 41 - year-old suspect in Vedrana Puljic’s murder escaped, Sarajevo-x.com reports.
Court officers who were working during Oliver Knezovic’s escape were suspended, and the investigation should determine whether they committed a crime, the president of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Amir Jagnjac said.
He explained that, according to available information, Knezovic Oliver managed to escape from police custody at around midnight and that this happened despite the fact that all of the court’s resources were functional at the time.
Knezović was committed to judicial police on Monday at around 6 pm, and he was taken by officers Ivan Bajic and Marinko Barbaric. President of the Supreme Court, Jagnjac said that he ordered their suspension as soon as he received the information and he dispatched the main judical police commander, Edib Vehabovic, who is expected to continue the Siroki Brijeg investigation.
Croatian Police looking for Knezovic as well
Besides Bosnia and Herzegovina forces, Croatian police is on the lookout as well, Jutarnji list reports. Police of the Split-Dalmatia County has also been notified and they are currently in the state of alert.
Knezovic used a gun after a man from Siroki Brijeg, Zeljko Zadro, was wounded at his doorstep. BHT1 reports say that the assassin of the unfortunate Sarajevo fan, Vedran Puljic, is not a police officer.
Police confirmed that during the war in Bosnia, Knezovic was a member of the Convicts' Battalion of the HVO, which was commanded by Mladen Naletilic Tuta.
On Monday, Interior Affairs Minister of the West Herzegovina Canton, Ivica Gaspar informed the Vice-President of the Federation of BiH Mirsad Kebu that a person suspected for Puljic’s murder was in custody. It is a citizen and not a police officer, claimed Gaspar in his notification.

A suspect in the murder Oliver Knezovic, who was in custody since Sunday evening, reportedly admitted shooting Puljic. He voluntarily surrendered to the police. The police source claims that Knezovic, who is from Siroki Brijeg, committed a murder with a gun stolen from a police officer.

Police released footage from the surveillance cameras and you can see the full chaos here. In one recording it is clearly visible that Sarajevo fans came to Siroki Brijeg armed.
Prime Minister, Zvonko Jurisic urged all of those who have video footage and photographs of the Siroki Brijeg event to turn them in.
- I have not seen that police officers shot any soccer fans, any groups or individuals - said Jurisic.
Despite some advances in the investigation, the Sarajevo fans will not give up their demands, Mohammed Grbo, representative of the Sarajevo fans said.
- The streets of Sarajevo will not be unblocked until the killer is found and until the fans, who were randomly arrested by the police, are released, said Grbo.
Arrested fans were questioned on Monday evening and the Prosecutor, Vesna Cavar could not tell whether they would be detained or released to their homes.
