VIDEO: Police Find Body Suspected To Be Caylee

Police have reportedly found remains of a child near the house of missing Florida 2-year-old Caylee Anthony.

Florida police have said they found the remains of a child they strongly suspect to be that of Caylee Anthony, 2, who was reported missing early last summer. 

The remains were stuffed in a plastic bag and police have no doubt in their minds that the small body belongs to little Caylee, American media reported.

A spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Carlos Padilla, said the police could not absolutely confirm that the body belongs to Caylee, but added that “likelihood that it is, is very high and we're confident and we believe that it is her”. But it may take the FBI up to two weeks to make a positive identification on the remains.

The investigation into the case continues and soon after the body was found, detectives searched her home and were seen taking boxes of items from the house.

- There's certain things that they want to be looking for. Some of those clues came from the crime scene yesterday and a lot of items were taken into our custody for review - the county sheriff said.

Two-year-old Caylee Anthony was reported missing in mid-July by her grandmother Cindy Anthony with whom she lived along with her mother Casey, 22. After she was questioned by police about her daughter’s disappearance, investigators realised that she way lying, so she was immediately made a suspect.

As time went on and as the little girl was nowhere to be found, the police were looking at a homicide case.

In October, the mother, Casey Anthony, was indicted for killing Caylee, even though there was no body and is currently in prison.
