A powerful tornado struck the USA from Texas to Tennessee. At least eight persons were killed, dozens were injured, while hundreds were left homeless, agencies report.
Apart from wrecking many homes, the tornado killed three persons in Texas.

According to the latest information, 40 persons were injured. Rescue teams are searching for survivors under the destroyed buildings.
Student Joe Spencer told the Washington Post how he managed to survive, even though the tornado directly hit his house.
- I was going to open the door to see what was going on and I looked straight at a tornado – Spencer said. He jumped into the bathtub while holding his dog.
Tornado turns homes into ruins
Several tornadoes have been recorded in Georgia. This area was also struck by ghastly weather with powerful wind, which kept knocking down trees.
The deadly tornado also raged in the city of Mena, Arkansas on Thursday. Three persons were killed, while over 30 were left injured.
- It looked like a war zone - James Reeves of the Crisis Office said.
The USA has also been struck by fires these last few days, however, powerful wind has been making it impossible for the fires to be extinguished. Two towns near Dallas burned down completely.
