BLONDIE – Band break-up was preceded by a poorly awaited album “Thu Hunter”, along with the fact that beautiful band boss Debbie Harry was getting much more media attention than other group members. Also, her partner and band member Chris Stein became diseased with a rare disorder, because of which he had to quit the band and Blondie announced their split-up. But, Stein and Debbie stayed together and in 1996 contacted old members about a reunion and this motivated members Harrison and Infante to raise charges against them for using the name Blondie. Despite this, the team recorded pop album “No Exit” in 1999 and got back in the saddle.

SEX PISTOLS – Cause of one of the most influential punk bands` break-up lied in the head of the already half-crazy Sid Vicious. His addiction to every opiate under the sky resulted with unfair and violent behaviour, until Johnny Rotten called him a seer waste of space. He fell out with manager Malcolm McLaren and left the band. Rotten announced his departure in 1978, while the band was on tour in California so he used the opportunity and threw out his not former colleague in Los Angeles without any money and plane ticket to get back to England. This is one angry break-up.

THE PIXIES – Tensions inside the Pixies grew at the equally fast speed of their popularity. They also loved falling out in public: on one occasion, frontman Franck Black threw a guitar at bass player Kim Deal during a concert. Black announced the band break-up in 1993, in an interview for the BBC and he decided to share the news with other banc members several days later, faxing them a brief message.

PINK FLOYD – Original band leader Syd Barret left Pink Floyd in 1968 because of his mental condition, brought on by the usage of various drugs. Roger Waters left the band in 1985, after the release of “The Final Cut” album, which turned out to be his solo work. Then law suits followed from waters, who was insulted because the rest of the band still used his name, which means the band has never split-up, but took a long break. During the Live 8 concert in London, the band took to the stage together with Waters for the first time after 24 years. But actually, this was a one-off reunion. Despite a 250 million dollar offer for just one reunion tour, Pink Floyd have no intention of following their old path.

THE BEATLES – Latest year together for The Beatles was 1969 when Lennon had enough of McCartney and Harrison was cross with the entire world, when the entire band (apart from Lennon) was cross with Lennon`s Yoko, who was over their heads non-stop. The Fantastic Four, i.e. Paul McCartney announced the break-up in April 10, 1970 and it took five more years of legal and similar obstacles for the band to actually split up. But, many stories occurred behind the scene, which might easily fill the pages of a memoir.

NWA – Niggaz Without Attitude split up in 1989 over money, i.e. royalties. The entire crew turned against Ice Cube, who “dissed” them in “No Vaseline” in return, and as the crew split-up, Dr.Dre left Ruthless Records, accusing Eazy E for contract breach. The fall-out continued until Eazy`s death in 1995, when the rest of the crew made up put of respect for the deceased colleague.

SMASHING PUMPKINS – The story of depressed Pumpkins really is special. So, way back in 1999 bass player D`arcy Wretzky was the first one to leave the band and band head Billy Corgan called her a vicious junkie… Of course, James Iha soon followed, who dared to get involved with A Perfect Circle and the band head accused him guilty for the band breaking up. Therefore, the final good bye was said by the Pumpkins in 2000, and Corgan headed for new victories with a new project called Zwan. But, as it usually happens, they also reunited. To be precise, only two of them – Corgan and Chamberlin, releasing a new album called “Zeitgeist”.

THE EAGLES – The Eagles are surely a band with a very interesting ending. The final fall out erupted on July 31, 1982 during a concert at Long Beach when Frey and Felder threatened each other with a fight backstage during the entire performance. They did as they promised. Frey began the fight and Felder defended himself with a guitar. Witnessing the fight, the rest of the band got involved, while their own staff had to simmer down the situation. Seeing how they still owed a live album to Warner, Frey and Henley mixed it together, but not in the same studio, but in different states. At this time, Henley said that the band would reunite when “Hell Freezes Over”, which was exactly the title of their comeback album from 1994.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE – The energetic “Rage” hit it big in the 90`s and then in 2000, boss Zack de la Rocha appeared on MTV, saying he was leaving the band because they no longer share the same vision, etc. etc. The dumped crew got friendly with Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and made a phenomenal band Audioslave. Soon, the old RATM line-up received offers with many digits just for a reunion, but in vain. In vain until the beginning of this year when rumours started of a possible comeback at Coachella festival. This is what happened, with the intention to play only one concert. RATM managed to diss Bush on stage from head to toe, anger Ann Coulter (famous conservative columnist) and realise that their time has come again.

TALKING HEADS – The band which marked the 70`s and the 80`s had most problems with the big kahuna – David Byrne. Since the release of the “Naked” album at the end of the 80`s, Byrne held his colleagues on ice, working on his solo career and this went on until 1991 when the band officially split up. The rest of the group recorded one more album in 1996 without Byrne, featuring Debbie Harry (Blondie). A reunion is out if the question in this case because the parties at odds are still at odds and Byrne said they are miles away when it comes to music.
