Lomnin shares slump but FTSE continues rally: Latest trading from the London Stock Exchange

There were red faces at stockbroker Liberum Capital this morning, after Xstrata dropped its 3300p a share offer for rival miner Lonmin. As a result, shares of Lonmin slumped 629p to 1645p, making it the biggest faller among the top 100 companies. Meanwhile, the London market managed to build on yesterday's rally in early trading with the FTSE 100 index rising 58.9 to 4961.4.
