Several members of a doomsday cult have left the cave where they have been waiting for the world to end.
Dozens of members of a Russian doomsday cult have been holed up in a cave for nearly five months.
They're waiting for the end of the world they say will happen in May.
But officials say the end of their world may come sooner than they think if they stay in the cave which is becoming dangerous.
SOUNDBITE: Oleg Melnichenko, deputy governor of Penza region, saying (Russian):
"The cave isn't in a very good condition. It's been flooded, some parts have collapsed, and to ensure the safety of the people inside we have to negotiate with them and get them to trust us because we're not going to cheat on them."
Seven female members of the group have now left the cave after the cult's leader was brought to negotiate with them.
Pyotr Kuznetsov is undergoing psychiatric therapy on the orders of a court.
Officials say the women didn't need medical help and have gone to Kuznetsov's home to await the planet's demise in isolation.
Nearly 30 other cult members including children are still inside the cave.
Efforts are still going on to persuade them to leave too.
