At least two people are feared dead as floods sweep Australia's tropical northeast.
This is Queensland, Australia's second largest state.
Sixty per cent of it - that's more then a million square kilometres - is under water and area has been declared a disaster zone.
At least two people are feared dead.
They were swept out of their car trying to cross a flooded river.
A search is also underway for a five year old boy thought to have been taken by a crocodile.
Large numbers have been spotted swimming towards the mouth of one flooded river which is now 60 kilometres wide.
The coastal town of Ingham is one of worst affected.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) FLOOD VICTIM, GREG RUSSELL, SAYING:
"No-one really knows what to expect and there's been a lot of people who have already lost lots of gear."
More than a metre of rain fell in just one night - and the cost of the damage is huge.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) FLOOD VICTIM, GRANT POWELL, SAYING:
"Very heartbreaking we've got gear downstairs that's had a bit of water and a bit of flood damage."
Many residents were lucky to escape with a mere soaking.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED RESIDENT, SAYING:
"Well we were just walking out to a mate's place and the water just rose up on the side of the road pretty quick."
The rain is now easing in Ingham but flash floods warnings are now in force elsewhere.
