Romanian sportsman stabbed to death

Hungarian-based handball player is killed in a nightclub knife attack.

Mourners gather near a nightclub in Hungary where international sportsman Marian Cozma was killed.

The Romanian handball player was stabbed to death in Veszprem during a night out with his girlfriend and his team-mates.

The group were celebrating the birth of a player's new baby.

Local reports say a gang of up to 30 attacked Cozma outside the club.

The 26-year-old was stabbed in the heart during the attack, which appears to have been motiveless.

Two other players were seriously injured.

Ivan Pesic and Zarko Sesum are not believed to be in danger.

Cozma was one of Romania's best players and considered by many to be Veszprem's star.
