Pilot suffers mid-air heart attack

A passenger takes over the controls and safely lands a plane after the pilot suffered from a heart attack and died.

Ambulances were on hand for an emergency landing in Florida. Six people were on board a small plane heading for Jackson, Mississippi from Marco Island, Florida. Shortly after take-off, the pilot had a heart attack and later died.

One passenger took over the controls. He happened to have a pilot's license but wasn't certified to fly bigger planes like this twin-engine King Air jet. Air traffic controllers guided him as he safely landed the plane at an airport in southwest Florida.
