A Malawian court has approved Madonna's adoption of David Banda. The singer, who met the child at an orphanage in the impoverished nation back in 2006, was said to be very happy. Banda, now about three years old, has been living with Madonna and her film director husband, Guy Ritchie, in London.

Good news from former "Dirty Dancing" star Patrick Swayze. The 55-year-old actor tells People magazine that he is responding well to treatment for pancreatic cancer. Swayze, who announced his illness in March, is receiving treatment at Stanford University Medical Center near San Francisco.

Turn outs Ashlee Simpson is an old fashioned girl. The pop singer says from now she'll go by the name of Ashlee Simpson Wentz. The younger sister of Jessica, recently married rocker Pete Wentz and adds that taking on her husband's name is just a tradition she believes in..

Sharon Stone's star continues to fall in China. A major cinema chain say's its boycotting the actress' films after her suggestions last week that China's deadly earthquake was the result of "bad karma" for the country's treatment of Tibet.
