Forest rangers found the young hyena near the Van Vihar National Park in India.
Veterinarians at the zoo believe the cub is about three months old.
She's been named Lusi by park officials and is said to be doing well.
Hyenas are regarded as nature's major scavengers. They feed on small animals, insects and even fruits.
A pack of hyenas is usually nomadic, moving from one water hole to another but never straying more than 6 miles (10 km) from one.
